The Company

Job Purpose

The Office 365/SharePoint Administrator will partner with the business to define, analyze, maintain and document requirements and help build out collaboration solutions within Office 365 SharePoint environment. They will focus on standardizing the current SharePoint sites and environment as well leading the development and implementation of future SharePoint deployments. The successful candidate shall have practical working experience using SharePoint Online and will be comfortable interacting with customers, IT staff, and the management team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies, and, where appropriate, makes recommendations for implementation of new/upgraded systems, technologies, and best practices.
  • Configures SharePoint services and settings, documents SharePoint configuration and architecture, administers and maintains sites and sub-sites.
  • Administer/Co-administer and maintain sites, sub-sites, site pages and document libraries.
  • Customize look and feel across all sites leading to a consistent experience for end users.
  • Create new sites and modify existing as requested.
  • Works closely with business stakeholders to understand business needs and operations.
  • Configures SharePoint to provide out of the box solutions based on user requirements.
  • Implements approved SharePoint solutions and deploys custom developed and third-party SharePoint solution package.
  • Manages SharePoint Security, prepares for and performs technical installations; installs, upgrades, configures and operates SharePoint environments; manages customizations for implementation.
  • Establish and manage site quotas and monitor storage.
  • Assist in setting information policies (retention and review) as needed.
  • Evaluates current and emerging SharePoint technologies and practices; recommends solutions and best practices to management.
  • Provides SharePoint support and training to end users.
  • Works though a ticketing system to address user request/needs with a recent SharePoint Migration. 
  • Redesign/Restructure of SharePoint environment. 
  • Handle assigned support tickets, update activity log and document resolution.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as they arise and will be assigned accordingly to workload.

Required Skills

  • An Associate’s degree is required. A Bachelor’s is preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with, developing and maintaining a Microsoft O365 SharePoint environment.
  • Strong functional knowledge of modern and classic Office 365 SharePoint sites.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Office365 SharePoint site permissions and retention settings.
  • Custom Workflow experience – multi-level steps
  • Experience creating SharePoint sites, subsites, site pages, lists and document libraries.
  • Strong understanding the differences and structure of SharePoint 2010/2016/0nline Permission, features and functionality in order to provide guidance, advice and support for departmental/company business needs.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SharePoint Workflow
  • Understanding and knowledge to add custom code to enhance to SharePoint functionality
  • Proven experience with creating custom SharePoint site definitions (site templates)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and a strong understanding on how to provide excellent customer service. 

Desired Skills

  • Ability to use MS PowerShell 
  • Ability to read, write and work with basic HTML
  • Database structure knowledge and defining data views 
  • Experience with Power BI and Power BI SharePoint Online webparts
  • 3+ years IT related systems deployment, operation and support
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
