Here’s what we’re looking for:

We are looking for a Mobile Engineering Manager to join us in growing and leading our mobile software development organization full of ambitious and passionate people building meaningful digital products. As engineering at Roche continues to grow, there is a growing demand for efficient and scalable solutions that improve the developer experience and technological effectiveness of all our teams and systems. The Mobile Engineering manager will have previously worked on digital products. 

Your upcoming mission

  • Establish our diabetes management mobile team in Pune with direct reports, providing adept technical direction and leadership. 
  • Drive the vision and strategy of Roche’s mobile development in your unit. 
  • Foster an environment of inventiveness, continuous learning, and excellence. 
  • Lead architecture, design, development, and deployment of innovative mobile software using clean code and future-proof architecture.
  • Be the formal technical lead for our mobile development initiatives connecting the development organization with other departments such as Regulatory Affairs, Human Factors, or Quality.
  • Aid the effective prioritization and management of our engineering roadmaps to align with our program delivery structure.
  • Recruit, and onboard talented mobile engineers to build a cohesive and high-performance team. 
  • Regularly assess and enhance our development processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Remain informed about emerging trends, technologies, and industry best practices in mobile development, and drive innovation within the team. 
  • Do code reviews and be hands-on as appropriate.

What Sets You Apart:

  • 10+ years of professional experience designing, and developing large-scale mobile software digital products and solutions.. 
  • Profound leadership abilities, capable of constructing, motivating, and inspiring a mobile engineering team to achieve outstanding outcomes.
  • Substantial hands-on experience in mobile development, with a robust grasp of iOS and/or Android platforms. 
  • A self-motivated exceptional person with experience working with high-performing teams, ideally with remote or hybrid teams
  • Proactively give and receive feedback with a growth mindset
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at articulating ideas, influencing stakeholders, and cultivating relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, proficient in recognizing and resolving technical obstacles and making fact-based courageous decisions.

Bonus skills:

  • Previous experience developing Software as a Medical Device, security, and privacy regulations
  • Knowledge of the diabetes industry or other health industries

You will learn about the wide range of technologies we employ, from native mobile development to infrastructure-as-code in our cloud environment, gaining a rich understanding of the specific requirements of medical software, be it security, medical risk management, safe and resilient programming, or certifications and audits. You will have direct contact with our users, learning about their daily struggles living with diabetes, as well as customers and partners, understanding the unique needs and mechanics of healthcare systems around the world.
