Molecular Biology Centre Associate - VIE Contract

iMove, the Sanofi VIE Program, is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.

Join our Molecular Biology Centre team as Molecular Biology Centre Associate VIE to leverage next-generation sequencing in the pursuit of these goals.

Main responsibilities:

• Long- and short-read high-throughput sequencing of viral and bacterial samples.
• Assembly of viral and bacterial genome sequences, with a focus on maintaining variant linkages (haplotype analysis).
• Collaborative design of bioinformatic readouts supporting variant analysis and 3D modeling.

About you

Experience:

• Hands-on laboratory experience with high-throughput sequencing.
• Experience with both long-read (e.g. Oxford Nanopore) and short-read (e.g. Illumina) technologies would be highly preferred.
• Experience working with bioinformatic pipelines to analyse high-throughput sequencing data; scripting skills in the context of pipeline development would be an asset.

Technical and soft skills:

• Strong foundational knowledge about viral genomics and evolution as it relates to sequence variation; additional expertise in bacterial genomics and evolution would be an asset.
• Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.
• Advanced communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong attention to detail.

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology or a related discipline.

Languages:

• Fluency in English is mandatory, some fluency in French is preferred.
