Sr/Director of Engineering, Verizon Digital Media Services, Volicon Media Intelligence Services. Location: Burlington, MA
Key Functions and responsibilities:
Directs and oversees the Engineering and QA functions in designing, developing, testing, releasing, and maintaining hosted and cloud versions of the Volicon Media Intelligence Platform.
Working with Product and Project Management leads to gather and document requirements and formulate action plans.
Ensure execution of site/software project plans and delivery commitments
Providing hands-on technical leadership across multiple AGILE teams.
Provide clear and valuable reporting to upper management on priorities, progress, and status.
Interact with and provide technical escalation support for to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ensure security and ISO compliance deadlines and deliverables are hit.
Contribute to technology/product vision with a combination of industry knowledge and technical knowhow. Choose the right technologies for specific situations.
Act as the site lead for Burlington/Boston office of VDMS.
Must have held at least one technical or engineering position in broadcast or video streaming company.
Bachelor and/or Masters degree in a Computer Science, information systems or software engineering or equivalent significant work experience.
10+ years experience developing critical or high-profile systems and applications as a developer and as a manager/architect.
Significant experience developing video or/and broadcast software, technology and systems under an Agile methodology.
Deep coding and technical leadership skills in this critical role, providing architectural direction.
Experience with developing SaaS / cloud products is a plus.
Experience with C/PHP/Microsoft technologies preferred but not required.
Demonstrated experience managing widely-distributed teams.
Problem solving attitude. Ability to solve conflicting interests.
This position does not require a lot of travel but may involve occasional trips to other VDMS offices in Los Angeles, Sunnyvale and Salt Lake City.
