- Purpose of this role is to provide Production Technology (PT) technical support for assets especially in the WRFM domain. This role is expected to have more focus on PT topics such as Well Performance, Well & Completion Conceptual Desing, Well Interventions, Production Safeguarding & Optimization, Well Integrity Management, IPSM, etc. with objective to support WRFM in assets.
The Technical Specialist WRFM will be part of the VP TAO organization.
The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System (AMS) and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream, Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.
What we need from you
We are looking for an experienced Technical Specialist in Production Technology (PT) who can deliver PT / WRFM technical support for Assets by embedding into the Asset Natural team as well as provide coaching to PSEs and junior staff in TAO. The selected candidate is expected to contribute as follows:
- HSSE Goal Zero delivery, especially in Asset WRFM support which is HSSE intensive.
- Actively work as WRFM Production Technologist for an Asset as part of the Asset Natural teams working in a virtual environment.
- Act as Well owners of the Asset for which supporting as WRFM PT.
- Manage Well Integrity of the Asset by achieving goal zero, no harm, no leaks and 100% compliance.
- Perform Short-Term and Medium-Term Forecasting of the Asset production.
- Arrest the production decline realistically as well as look for optimization opportunities.
- Actively contribute to the daily surveillance, weekly production performance reviews, WRFM practice Table reviews (AWR, ARR, AFR, PSO, etc.)
- Liaise with Subsurface Disciplines (Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, Geosciences), Wells Engineering, Process Engineering and Production Operations for quality PT deliverables.
- Plan and execute Well Intervention activities for data acquisition and remedial activities.
- Work effectively in multidisciplinary and often virtual teams. Demonstrate personal mastery and awareness of stakeholder needs.
- Contribute to expansion of the PT network through knowledge sharing and highlighting the success stories in TAO.
- Coach the less experienced staff to build the capability in TAO.
- Be active in the Global Production Technology and WRFM network to bring existing and emerging practices worth replicating in the assets.
- Ensure PT excellence through effective collaboration within own discipline and across others disciplines and assets.
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with business partners and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with PTE, SMEs, PT peers etc. in identifying improvement initiatives in the PT delivery space.
- Pro-actively identify initiatives for asset which will lead to more business opportunities for TAO.
- Be the ambassador of the TAO PT team by delivering excellent quality of work.
- Increase collaboration within TAO and with other processes under Upstream organization.
- Champion in Continuous Improvement (CI) implementation and ensure benefits delivery.
- Effective in creating SOPs, managing handover and onboarding of incoming staff.
Key Experiences and Qualifications:
An experienced Production Technologist, preferably with a minimum of 5 years of experience who:
- Is a skilled Petroleum Engineer,
- Has Knowledge level in Well Reservoir Facility Management (WRFM), Well Integrity, Well Operations, Well System Performance, Field Development Planning, Integrated Production System Modelling (IPSM), Well & Reservoir Surveillance, Sand Management, Well & Completion Design, Well Intervention, Short-Term and Medium-Term Forecasting
- Applies petroleum engineering domain knowledge to identify surveillance and optimization opportunties as part of WRM.
- Has Knowledge level in IVM, IFM, MC, IPM, Petex Suite, PI Data Historian
- Has Skill level in working with Real Time data.
- Has experience of documenting processes, data workflows and best practices.
- Is an integrator across different disciplines and functions.
- Demonstrates good communication and reporting skills.
- Demonstrates track record in stakeholder management, change management and cultural awareness.
- Has proven capability of working in a virtual working environment.
