Delta is on a journey to become a premier retailer, changing the way we sell and service flight and ancillary products to improve the overall customer experience. Delta’s Retail Strategy is focused on dynamically manufacturing products, offering the most relevant product to customers in their channel of choice, and servicing those products when plans change. The Enterprise Solutions (ES) team is seeking a Senior Data Product Manager to lead the vision, design, and advancement of Delta's Servicing Data strategy and help gain better insights across the Retail Servicing landscape.

A successful candidate is motivated by solving problems, exhibiting curiosity to understand current processes, and can think creatively to identify solutions. They lead their peers to implement roadmaps which reflect development required to establish a new data strategy that supports our existing and new products. They work across business units to ensure requirements are well understood across the enterprise, gain cross-divisional consensus on priorities, ensure outcomes meet business needs, while balancing long term flexibility and speed to market.

Responsibilities: 

  • Formulate the vision for Delta’s Retail Servicing data.
  • Identify Retail Servicing data gaps by identifying what business questions need to be answered and comparing questions to existing data.
  • Build a roadmap that drives the vision and closes Retail Servicing data gaps.
  • Define and build data models that can transform unstructured data into something insights can be gleaned from.
  • Collaborate with other agile development teams to implement the data roadmap.
  • Analyze data to guide development roadmaps.
  • Work closely with business and IT partners to translate business requirements into usable and reliable data solutions.
  • Effectively communicate to business and technical audiences.

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in a Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Analysis or Product Manager Role.Deep Expertise in Tableau, SAS, SQL, UNIX, Hyperion/BRIO, Excel, PowerBI, Python, R, or similar skills required
  • Ability to understand large, unstructured data sets
  • Understanding of data modeling and modern software architecture styles
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity as well as sound analytical and communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels
  • Shown success in understanding and improving complex processes.
  • Experience translating a business vision into written technical requirements.
  • Must have the ability to work well with diverse groups in a team environment with minimal direction.
  • Results oriented and capable of meeting or exceeding deadlines with attention to detail and follow through.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. 
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. 
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree with preferred major in quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering.
  • Experience in at least one airline commercial or operations function such as Reservations, ACS, eCommerce, Revenue Management, Sales or IT preferred.
