The Non-Licensed Electrician will be responsible for advanced level work, as assigned by Plant Engineering Services leadership, necessary to maintain the service life of company assets such as physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, utilities, and grounds in an operative and safe working condition.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. One year technical trade school or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years experience in commercial electrical distribution system installation and maintenance, required. Healthcare experience, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required): Knowledgeable in the application and practice of life safety, electrical and building codes. Knowledge in repair and installation of electrical equipment, systems and devices. Ability to analytically troubleshoot electronic and electrical equipment, including but not limited to, A/C equipment, switchgear and motor control centers. Knowledge in operations and maintenance of emergency generator sets and transfer switch equipment. Thorough knowledge and skill in the use of electrical testing devices. Thorough knowledge in understanding and utilizing technical service manuals, electrical schematics and blue prints. Valid Driver's License in state of employment. In the execution of his/her duties a Non-Licensed Electrician may be subjected to or exposed to any or all of the following; electrical shock hazards, severe weather conditions, infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals and other general hazardous conditions/situations as would normally be incurred in this line of work. Manual dexterity required for working with equipment and tools. Medium to heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and stretching. Ability to work in a kneeling position for extended periods. Ability to hear and understand verbal communication changes in machine/equipment noises. Ability to climb ladders and work at extreme heights and confined spaces. Ability to work in a stressful environment resulting from a large volume or traffic and noise. Ability to work extended shifts if necessary/required. Ability to assist in firefighting and evacuation.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge in the operation and repair of mechanical equipment. Thorough knowledge in the use of personal computers and PC programs.
