The Information Security team at BMO is responsible for supporting the Governance, Risk and Compliance system used for  information risk assessments and other related processes. 


Our team works collaboratively with our lines of business to gather requirements, configure solutions, and implement new workflow processes to a centralized system. These processes help BMO create an automated way to assess risks through enabling all parts of the organization to have a common interface for Global Information and Technology Risk Management. We are looking for an Archer GRC business analyst to join our team to assist in the creation of new processes to address current and additional Information Security initiatives.

 
 

The GRC Business Analyst (Governance Risk Compliance Business Analyst) will be responsible for partnering with IT/IS business processes.  The objective is to assist business process owners efficiently design and document user-based assessment processes and workflows for onboarding into Bank of Montreal’s RSA Archer application.

 
ABOUT YOU
 

As a GRC Business Analyst, you will have Information Security/Technology experience and be passionate about uncovering and presenting technology driven solutions to user-based IT/IS assessment processes.  You will apply process efficiency principals and will proactively interface directly with the process owners of various IT/IS business functions. You have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and training skills, and have a high degree of comfort engaging with all levels (Staff and Executives) within the organization.

 

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ of experience with RSA Archer GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) Platform, more experience is ideal
  • A successful background in Information Security or Audit
  • Ideally configuration experience specifically with the Policy and Compliance module of RSA Archer GRC
  • A proven track record of successfully influencing others and extensive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to pay attention to details
 
 
ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Liaison among Process Owners and Archer Developers in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of GRC processes, and to recommend solutions that enable Global Information & Technology Risk Management to achieve its goals
  • Conduct studies of operations, workflow processes and develop the most efficient or productive way for processes to operate within the Archer application and review them with the Archer development team
  • Gather functional requirements for processes and translate them into technical requirements in MS Excel and MS Visio templates for the implementation of Archer application enhancements
  • Proven experience identifying failures/inefficiencies in processes, conflicting business practices and integration issues, providing alternative solutions
  • Assist with the creation and execution of UAT test scripts to ensure that production issues are minimal after implementation of new enhancements, changes or upgrades
  • Engage with the process owner’s end-users to assess and document the impact of proposed process or procedural change
  • Organize and deliver presentations in front of large groups
 
 
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

This role requires the incumbent to interact with the following processes and/or groups in BMO FG:

    • Archer development team
    • Process owners in various lines of business and operational areas
    • Director of Information & Technology Risk
 
 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Expert level process analysis skills (e.g. process mapping)
  • Expert level experience documenting user-based assessment processes for an application/system
  • Proficient experience in MS Excel and Visio
  • Knowledge of Information Security/Technology industry
  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
