About the opportunity
Our Water Resources and Engineering team in Sydney are currently working on some of the largest projects in the state, and recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join the team and support these projects. We are looking for someone who is technically strong, client facing, ideally with a strong track record in one or more of our key sectors. An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to undertake water and waste water engineering studies and designs, and collaborate with other disciplines in delivering projects. You will be a part of a growing team to ensure that projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards to meet our diverse range of client expectations.
Other responsibilities of the role include and not limited to interpreting, scope, design and plan projects ensuring technical solutions are appropriate and accepted by the client. You will also review technical work and ensure relevant guidelines and codes of practice are adhered to.
This person will build a strong profile internally and establish/maintain relationships with current and prospective clients. You will need to develop contingency plans to address potential obstacles and prepare engineering project proposals. Other key responsibilities include project management including stakeholder communications and expectation management.
We are looking for someone who has a relevant tertiary mechanical engineering qualification(s) or equivalent. We can further develop your key skills through undertaking project management, feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, as well as bid work for; waste water, potable water and recycled water pumping stations, transfer pipelines and treatment plants.
This role will further enhance your capability to undertake design management, and contract administration on numerous refurbishment and upgrade projects of brownfield sites. Along with demonstrating your ability to develop client relationship management and to build new clients.
