The Private Credit business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management is one of the world’s largest alternative credit investing platforms with approximately $113bn of AUM and investment professionals based in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia. The Private Credit business originates investments across senior secured loans, mezzanine/unsecured debt, preferred equity and opportunistic credit and invests both the firm’s capital and capital raised from outside investors across a wide range of industries. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support investment ideas across the product suite of Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., financial sponsors / company management teams for the private-side investing platforms)
  • Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
  • Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
  • Communicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including relevant Private Credit Investment Committees
  • Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio
  • Building relationships with sponsors, management teams and internal GS stakeholders
  • Valuations
  • Financial modeling
  • Industry and company specific due diligence (research, management meetings, and investor presentations)
  • Prepare and present investment memos
  • LBO modeling
  • Legal documentation & negotiation 

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate Bachelor's degree required; Minimum of 2 years of Investment Banking or Principal Investing experience
  • Strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for investing with specific interest in credit / other structured products 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
  • Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
