About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical System/Service Owner to join our team and take ownership of our Application Archival Service. As the Technical System/Service Owner, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of the archival service, as well as vendor management for both services/consulting and product vendors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT Teams, business stakeholders, and vendors, to meet the organization's archival needs and provide efficient and reliable access to archived data.

Role Requirements

Responsibilities:

Service Planning and Strategy Development:

Develop a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the Application Archival Service, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives.

Identify and prioritize archival requirements and define service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely and accurate archival of data.

Collaborate with vendors to understand their capabilities, products, and services, and align them with the organization's archival needs.

Manage vendor contracts and relationships, ensuring they deliver on agreed-upon service levels and contractual obligations.

Enforce data retention policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and business needs.

Vendor Management:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, conducting regular vendor performance reviews, and addressing any issues or escalations.

Act as the main point of contact for vendors, facilitating communication, coordinating activities, and ensuring vendor deliverables align with project timelines and objectives.

Service Implementation and Management:

Oversee the design, implementation, and configuration of the archival service, ensuring it meets the organization's security, scalability, and performance requirements.

Collaborate with vendors to ensure seamless integration of their services or products with existing systems, applications, and databases.

Monitor the archival service's performance, troubleshoot issues, and work with vendors to implement appropriate measures to ensure high availability and data integrity.

Manage vendor relationships for ongoing support and maintenance, ensuring timely resolution of any service or product-related incidents.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their archival requirements and provide guidance on best practices for data archiving.

Collaborate with Application teams to ensure the archival service aligns with the application development lifecycle and supports archival when needed.

Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors, facilitating communication, managing expectations, and addressing any issues or concerns.

Documentation and Training:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, operational procedures, and user guides, to support the archival service's implementation and ongoing management.

Provide training and support to end-users and technical teams on the proper use and administration of the archival service.
