Position Summary
The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving appropriate diets as ordered in the healthcare dining rooms and/or tray service. This aide will ensure daily HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) logs and other daily paperwork are complete. The aide will ensure cleaning and sanitation of kitchenettes, dining rooms, refrigerators and any other general area used by culinary services staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves meals according to diets as ordered; includes preparing mechanically altered.
- Develops relationships with residents.
- Cleans and sanitizes kitchen and dining room.
- Set up tables before meals and breaks down tables/carts after meals.
- Washes dishes and keeps dish temperature log.
- Transports food and supplies from the main kitchen to the kitchenettes.
- Keeps HACCP logs – temperatures, cleaning logs, calibration logs
- Attends in-services/ and completes competencies in a timely manner.
- Communicates with supervisor when a work order needs to be placed.

- Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday
- Must be able to sit for extended periods
- Ability to stoop, bend, and frequently stretch in small tight areas.
- Must be able to lift, carry and hold up to 30 pounds
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures from the ovens and freezers.
- May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals, offensive odors, and communicable diseases including but not limited to HIV and hepatitis B virus.

Education and Experience • Minimum High School Diploma • Prior work experience in a Senior or Assisted Living environment preferred • Prior work experience as a dietary aide or culinary services environment preferred
