The Position

With extensive high accuracy product portfolio, optimized for density and speed, unified software architecture that accelerates the process of developing, debugging, and deploying test programs through intuitive interactive software, NI has acquired tremendous successes for wafer test including wafer reliability test in key foundries and IDMs worldwide, provides significant improvements on throughput without sacrificing test accuracy. LED and Panel test have also become the key targeting applications for NI, customers and partners were benefited by high-speed, high-density SMU products that helps to increase competitiveness and drive down the test cost. Recently NI is stepping into SiC and GaN test market through the acquisition of SET GmbH, together, the company will reduce time to market for critical, highly differentiated solutions and accelerate semiconductor-to-transportation supply-chain convergence with power electronic materials.

Now we are looking for a Semiconductor Business Development Manager for APAC market, to lead and accelerate our new business growth especially in Wafer Foundries, Optical and SiC/GaN market developments.

The Role

Business Development function in NI is a key strategic differentiator in NI BU organization, which is designed to focus on leading new business growth aligned with NI business unit strategies. Business Development Managers are customer-facing best in class technical and business domain experts in NI's focused high potential growth areas, who will lead & enable the Sales organization to effectively generate new business through penetration into industry eco-systems and key accounts in the region. Business Development Managers also represent regional voice that will influence NI future offering decisions in business units to best support regional growth in their focused areas. The Semiconductor Senior Business Development Manager we are recruiting is a critical position in APAC market to lead NI’s growth towards new Semiconductor industry investment and developments trends in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ongoing collection of market intelligence of competitive position and adoption of NI’s value proposition in your focus areas and regions.
  • Develop and execute a Business Development Plan to lead sustainable business growth for next 1-3 years in your focused areas through leading and collaborating with other functions
  • Work on top semiconductor accounts with account managers in your focus regions to identify and solve customer’s new emerging challenges to establish NI’s credibility in your focused areas.
  • Identify Semiconductor test trends in APAC region and develop the corresponding NI values by working with US headquarter teams closely. Provide products feedback to NI Business Unit Product management team.
  • Provide recommendations to APAC regional leadership team on establishment of program/project priorities and resolving of issues that involve significant trade-offs between functionality, cost and time to market.
  • Establish ecosystem through identifying and developing partner/integrator to drive business growth.
  • Develop relationships with key technologists and managers at key customers at an executive level to provide direct input for new product test strategies.
  • Work with BDMs/Sales globally to drive global industry value chain success.

Key Performance Objectives

  • Reach and exceed revenue growth targets for next 1-3 years.
  • Reach and exceed early design wins and milestones in top semiconductor accounts in focus regions and focus applications.

Basic Qualifications

  • BSEE required, MSEE and/or MBA preferred
  • Mastery of the English language at business level - both spoken and written;
  • 10+ years’ experience in an engineering, applications, marketing or sales role in semiconductor Foundries or its suppliers, Optical or SiC/GaN industry experience is preferred
  • Extensive experience and domain knowledge in key markets, value chain, technology trend, key players etc. in foundry industry
  • Track record of excellent customer engagement skills and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Understanding of semiconductor customer R&D and Test process, the decision-making flow
  • Strong sales & business acumen, strategic thinking capability and entrepreneurship spirit
  • Integrity, logic-thinking & learning, superior soft skills including actively listening, negotiation, Innovative and self-motivation and result-oriented
  • Acceptance of 30%-50% travel time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated relationship with key semiconductors companies.
  • Be a demonstrated team player and have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Deep understanding of other ATE/test vendors’ test solutions.
  • Be able to deal with change and uncertainty.
  • Be highly creative and think outside the box
  • Understanding or Mastery of NI tools would be a plus
