What you get to do in this role:

As a Software Quality Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of engineers with passion for quality software, deployment agility, continuous integration and deployment of next generation of cloud infra automations. You will lead by example on establishing quality vision, solving tough technical challenges and complex business problems in a high energy, startup like environment with experienced industry leaders and with a highly collaborative team.

This role will require you to interface with various internal departments, understand their business needs and deliver highly reliable and easy to use solutions that enhance business efficiency. The successful candidate will have an established background in developing mission critical software solutions, a strong technical ability, excellent project management and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to hire and build out your team.

In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

  • Responsible for the overall software development life cycle with quality engineering bend.
  • Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class application engineering team.
  • Work closely with various departments internally, understand business requirements, and clearly manage expectations
  • Ability to drive roadmap, work across organizational boundaries and exercise appropriate influence to ensure commitment to customers and product quality
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object oriented design and design patterns
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging skills and an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Experience developing scalable and distributed systems with either C++/C#/Java and experience with a scripting language JavaScript/Python/Ruby/PHP/ Perl in a UNIX or Windows environment  
  • Proficiency in web technologies such as HTTP, REST/SOAP, AJAX
  • Experience with Python, with emphasis on writing modular, scalable server-side components, knowledge of web development frameworks such as Django or Flask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • S or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience managing software development teams delivering high quality enterprise ready software

 

Desirable

  • Experience with cloud platforms like Amazon, OpenStack, Azure
  • Experience with ServiceNow Platform
  • Experience working with a continuous integration environment
