Brooklyn is one of the most exciting and fastest growing cities in America today. In the last decade, Brooklyn has become a hotbed of growth in the arts and creative industries. While providing easy access to all the incredible cultural assets of Manhattan, Brooklyn offers greater space and peace for new pursuits. This has led to resurgence in the arts and crafts, innovations in sustainable architecture, roof-top farming, farm-to-table restaurants, and an explosion of small businesses championing local sourcing and diverse, sustainable communities. Among Brooklyn’s many nearby treasures are The Brooklyn Museum, The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and Prospect Park. Plentiful public transportation provides a quick trip to Manhattan’s many restaurants, theaters, and museums including The Museum of Modern Art, The Museum of Natural History and The Metropolitan Museum. Brooklyn has grown into its own as a progressive city with distinct values from its surrounding boroughs. It is in this new Brooklyn that The Brooklyn Waldorf School finds itself perfectly at home, bringing Waldorf education to this dynamic community.
The Anthroposophical community in New York City and State is very vibrant and includes The Anthroposophical Society, Biodynamic Farms, Camphill Communities, The Threefold Education Center, Sunbridge College, a number of area Waldorf Schools and much more.
