Job Summary:

The Principal Solution Architect, D&T, SAP QM collaborates with the team in various locations to define, deliver and support IT enabled business solutions for the Quality and Operation functions. This role will also help determine business needs and design & deliver functional and technical solutions for these areas. The delivery of Quality systems including project delivery, system configuration and enhancement plus production support in alignment with West D&T and company policies and procedures will be your focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possesses solid understanding of overall vision and business needs and utilize specialized expertise to collaborate with Quality integration leads to define detailed User Stories for D&T enablement of business needs. This includes interpreting any issues and recommending solutions or best practices.
  • Utilizes knowledge of best practices to help define strategic direction, help determine business needs and design & deliver technical solutions for Quality in partner with Application and Infrastructure.
  • Essential core member of agile sprint team(s) to configure and develop optimal technical solutions / features in SAP.
  • Provide technical delivery of functionality to meet defined business requirements as described in User Stories.
  • Provide system support and maintenance in alignment with standards and process set within the ERP Services Delivery model, West policies, and procedures as well as Regulatory requirements including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley and FDA GMP.
  • Running daily team scrums, root cause analysis and knowledge transfers for the teams. Ensure KT and relevant documentation for the people on move in the team. 
  • To provide the necessary contribution into the new implementation in SAP S4 Hana transformation program and global SAP QM operation team. 
  • Work closely with business key users and the integration leads for SAP Implementation, Gaps and Incident Management. 
  • Lead the SAP Quality team of 4-8 of internal and external resources in SAP-QM domain.
  • Provide guidance to the SAP team on overall SAP design and architecture as well as subject matter expertise in SAP QM and related integration. 
  • Work within and participates in the Change Control process.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Exhibit regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager or by the organization. 
  • Create and maintain system lifecycle documents in accordance with West policies and procedures, including creation and maintenance of UAT, PQ Execution, SOPs, SOIs and Job Aids.
  • Work within and participates in the Change Control process.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 7 to 12 years of related work experience, i.e. 3 or more full implementations of SAP QM solutions
  • Preferred but not required: Agile & Scrum Certification, JIRA etc. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid SAP skills – system functionality and technical understanding of QM and related areas (PP, MM, PM)
  • Must be up to date on latest ERP release.
  • Strong SAP S4 HANA experience and knowledge preferred
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description 
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target 
  • Able to always comply with the company’s safety and quality policy.

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • 15% travel, including global travel
  • Occasional on-call work required
  • Prefer 12pm – 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.
