Tetra Tech Inc. has an immediate opening for a Marine Sediment Scientist/Seller-Doer to join their established sediment team in the Pacific Northwest. This position will be based in either our Portland, OR or Bothell, WA offices providing a full range of remedial investigation/feasibility studies (RI/FS) or contaminated sediment remediation services. The qualified candidate will have an MS/BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering or a related field and have a minimum of 15 years professional experience working as an Science or Engineer on hazardous waste and contaminated sediment services projects. 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • MS/BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years professional experience with upland and contaminated sediment remediation projects
  • In-depth knowledge of in-water work permits (Section 10 Rivers and Harbors Act and Clean Water Act Sections 404 and 401 water quality certification)
  • Expertise with RI/FS and Remedial Design/Remedial Action (RD/RA) under the Comprehensive Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA)
  • Excellent client development and management skills
  • Team Leadership and ability to manage a multi-disciplined teams with members located at various geographic locations
  • Ability to provide direction and management for investigation, design and construction activities
  • Experience participating in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of the client
  • Strong writing skills with work plans, reports, various resources agency reports, proposals and marketing documents
  • Strong desire and aptitude for client management and  business development
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks
  • Extremely responsible, equally suited to working independently or in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel to locations in the U.S. (approximately 25% travel)
 
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Working knowledge of Experience with ArcGIS
  • Knowledge and experience working with engineering staff in the development of design reports, design drawings and technical specifications
  • Ideal candidate will have 40-hour HAZWOPER training
