You will be working as Market Development Specialist, will be part of Electrification Business Area for Distribution Solutions division based in Kuwait. In this role you will be responsible to accelerate and expand Electrification Business in Kuwait, get ABB to preferred position with end users, EPCs, OEMs and partners based on quick and reliable support, digital tools. Develop and implement innovative strategies to maintain market leadership in Electrification, secure stronger market position through creation of a superior customer experience leveraging digital offering.

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and execution of the strategies and business plans on focus segments/channel/applications for identified markets in collaboration with the local sales and marketing teams and GPG functions, in line with the overall division strategy in order to achieve defined targets
  • Defining KPI’s of defined targets (orders as well as product mix, net price variance (NPV), sales cost/expense and Net Promoter Score (NPS), etc.), in collaboration with marketing function and GPG team, for new product launches (revenues on new products, sales start in key markets, etc.)
  • Together with all relevant stakeholders, supporting and defining marketing and sales targets (e.g., volume, prices, channels and market coverage), establishing appropriate metrics and measurement tools to monitor performance in the region
  • Supporting local organizations in customer events, supporting growth of the top line in each market, finding and creating new business opportunities, providing market intelligence analyses in support of identification and development of new markets, segments, or other areas
  • Developing good understanding of Kuwait market for Electrification & Motion products, competitive environments and ABB position, supporting in developing product positioning strategies based on these market input
  • Getting ABB factory and product approvals with all key end users like KOC, KNPC, MEW, KIPIC, EQUATE & PIC , developing management contact at key customer organizations and supporting front end sales team as needed
  • Identifying opportunities from idea generation stage and work with end users, EPCs and consultants to position ABB products and specification correctly, identifying market requirement and supporting in developing strategic sales plan for Electrification business
  • Identifying customer installed base, issues faced by customer and key decision makers at customer organization, so that proactive solutions can be implemented, enquiring generation for complete ABB portfolio through proactive business development action
  • Effectively implementing of group sales strategies, promoting digitalization solutions, understanding segment / channel / customer needs in the market, supporting developing and implementing product support and product training to ensure high customer satisfaction in cooperation with Product Management
  • Supporting continuous improvement on NPS and the execution of customer satisfaction surveys, analyzing results and assisting with corrective actions as necessary

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience
  • Previous engagement and customer relationships with major end-users
  • Innovative mind and interest to explore new ideas and build strong relationships – excellent networking skills
  • Out-of-the box thinking and exceptional problem solving skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic language is mandatory
