The Developer Experience Team builds the libraries and tools that are a developer’s interface to MongoDB. We’re a globally distributed team with developers in multiple time zones and continents. Our senior engineers are typically specialists in a particular programming language, but are capable of contributing to projects in other languages as well.
You will be the voice of the Python community, both on the Developer Experience Team and within the broader MongoDB community. You will be responsible for supporting MongoDB in the Python ecosystem through library development, including PyMongo (one of the most popular packages on PyPI), PyMODM, and PyMODM’s Django support. You will encourage MongoDB adoption among Python programmers through integration with open source tools, community support, and developer advocacy.
You'll sometimes work on projects outside of Python, such as developing MongoDB integration tools like our Spark Connector, enhancing our continuous integration infrastructure, or working with our Server team on specifications for new MongoDB features in drivers. You'll be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and will have opportunities to grow professionally beyond your initial responsibilities.
Our ideal candidate has contributed to open source projects or released original projects on Github or Bitbucket. You can work independently, communicate well both in person and to a crowd, and dive into new code and learn from existing examples. You have a burning desire to constantly improve yourself, the product, and your team.

Extensive experience programming in and a passion for Python
Extensive experience with the Django web framework
Active contributor to open source projects or participant in open source communities
