Job Title: Senior Data Analyst 

Job Summary:    

CASES is a New York City non-profit organization at the forefront of alternative to incarceration programs and comprehensive services for criminal justice-involved populations. CASES seeks a Senior Data Analyst within the Data and Analytics unit to assist with the reporting requirements for its pretrial services department. Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of Salesforce and is highly skilled in relational databases and Excel formulas. S/he is detail oriented, curious, and able to hustle to meet recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc deadlines to support the large-scale expansion of pretrial services. 

Salary: The salary for the Senior Data Analyst position is $70,000 per year. 

Shift Hours: The Senior Data Analyst position is full time from Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. 

Location Address: 151 Lawrence Street Brooklyn, NY 11201. 

Workplace Flexibility: CASES offers various work arrangements, where possible for certain roles. The Senior Data Analyst position is primarily remote with occasional mandatory in-office trainings and team meetings.

What you will be doing: 

  • Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for all data reporting and analysis for large-scale pretrial services program using Salesforce/Exponent Case Management (ECM). 
  • Senior Data Analyst will produce analysis on key program and operational outcomes to enhance agency understanding of underlying program issues, trends and performance and to help make data driven decisions. 
  • Execute queries in databases to extract program datasets for analysis to respond to the needs of the executive team, pretrial leadership and external requests from funders, government oversight agencies, policymakers and other stakeholders. 
  • Senior Data Analyst will develop automated data reports to analyze program performance against contract goals and set protocols for invoicing, financial projection analysis, and performance management. 
  • Develop and present monthly and year-to-date program performance data using data visualizations and dashboards. 
  • Senior Data Analyst will participate in program planning efforts with pretrial services leadership by contributing insights about program data. 
  • Work collaboratively with quality assurance staff to identify missing/inaccurate data and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts to bring together data for timely, error-free invoicing and performance tracking. 
  • Provide descriptive, outcome and trend analysis data for annual pretrial services reports to the NYS Office of Court Administration 
  • Senior Data Analyst will manage special assignments and assist with request for proposals, foundation reports and fundraising. 
  • Perform duties in accordance with CASES’ mission, cultural competency, anti-discriminatory and other policies and procedures. 

What we are looking for: 

  • Master’s degree in related field and at least 2 years of experience as a data analyst, or bachelor’s degree in related field with at least 3-5 years of experience as a data analyst working with relational databases. 
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Advanced functions, Get and Transform), proficiency in other products in MS Suite required. 
  • Experience with SQL, Python, SPSS (or other statistical software) a plus. 
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multitask while adhering to deadlines. 

Preferred Skills:   

  • Be comfortable in situations where it’s asked to lead projects and participate in ways to innovate creation of data solutions. 
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and remain highly organized. 
  • Commitment to social justice and knowledge of NYC criminal justice system and alternatives to incarceration programs 
  • Experience with Power BI highly preferred. 
  • Project management experience preferred. 
  • Salesforce experience highly preferred; Salesforce certified professional a plus. 
  • Other statistical software a plus.
