Business Development Manager - 2621

Client Services and Sales - South Africa Johannesburg, Gauteng 

 

Develop the Nielsen Innovation Practice business by building new client relationships within Consumer Durables and Consumer Packaged goods industries.  

Principal Accountabilities

  • Serve as an Innovation Business Partner (IBP) directly responsible for Sales and Business Development of Innovation solutions to new and existing clients (excluding Unilever)

  • Build and manage client relationships, understanding business needs and driving to better innovation outcomes for the clients

  • Contributor and driver of account plans to increase depth and breadth of penetration of the Innovation/Nielsen solutions to meet client specific needs

  • Works closely with Analytic Managers to identify and pursue opportunities to strengthen account relationship through value-added analytics and validations

  • Independently leads client meeting

  • Conducts external presentations on a regular basis

  • Independently designs and estimates costs of projects

  • Serves as a contributor in the building of strategic partnerships with clients, focused on the full innovation system and fully supportive of initiatives from early stages to activation

  • Understands the full Innovation eco-system/process, including Nielsen’s competitive environment, preferred agencies, tools etc.

  • Aligns the Analytic team with client needs - provides relevant client background, history and other Nielsen analytics to create best in class results

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in marketing, research, business development, consulting or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of sales experience of market research/consulting solutions or related field.

  • Strong consultative, business development and analytical skills

  • Excellent oral/written communication, organizational, project management and client service skills

  • Experience with statistics, research techniques, and experimental designs

  • Experience with Nielsen Innovation (BASES) services and forecasting models strongly preferred

  • Client management experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with Innovation, Marketing, Consulting or Analytics strongly preferred

  • Languages: English- Business

  • Passionate about change and is high energy individual
