Role Summary

The Associate Director, Sales & Marketing Technology, is responsible for leading the software engineering teams which develop and maintain technology solutions that support sales and marketing initiatives. This highly technical leader plays a crucial role in driving the development and implementation of technology solutions that enable sales and marketing teams to achieve their goals and objectives effectively.

The person in this role will serve as a strategic partner to the business, playing an important role in developing strategy and conveying the business vision on specific system needs to the technology team. This Associate Director-level role will lead and supervise a team of up to 25 associates, including application developers, architects, software development engineers in test (SDET) and managers, and reports to the Senior Director of IT Application Services. In addition, they will oversee relevant vendor and client relationships.

This leader will be directly responsible for the overall architecture, design, delivery, projects, systems, applications, maintenance activities and resource allocation for the following key areas:

  • CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365), Customer Data Platform (CDP), all third-party integrations around CRM
  • In-house sales reporting and aggregation processes, Power BI analytics, other Go-to-Market facing tools, and the integrations between them.
  • Russell Investments public and private sites (russellinvestments.com), which are powered by the Sitecore Content Management Platform
  • All external facing tools on russellinvestments.com

The ideal candidate will have strong Customer Relationship Management (CRM) expertise, deep hands-on software development experience, significant people management experience, will be comfortable supporting both a Sales and Digital Marketing technology stack and familiar with web content management.

This is a senior IT role that requires hands-on relevant technology experience to be effective. The candidate will also be passionate about current software development practices and emerging technologies and will be a driving force behind contributing to enterprise standards, vision, and architecture.

The candidate will also have excellent communication skills, and will foster strong partnerships with business constituents, working collaboratively with all relevant support services counterparts, cross-functional IT groups, business solutions, and data operations associates. The role will be heavily involved with expanding the Mumbai office, including undertaking key recruitment activity.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, information technology), or equivalent work or education-related experience required. Advanced technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of software development experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of People Management experience required: recruiting, hiring, performance management, resource, and task allocation, mentoring and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on and technical experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution, Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies including but not limited to:
  • .NET Framework/.NET Core: Proficiency in building scalable, high-performance applications using C# or other .NET languages.
  • ASP.NET MVC/WebAPI: Ability to develop web applications and APIs.
  • Microsoft SQL Server: Strong knowledge of database design, optimization, and querying using SQL.
