Leidos is seeking a Technical Writer to join its Proposal Operations team in either Reston, VA, or Rockville, MD. This candidate would join an internally-focused team that is focused on generating high-quality, winning proposal content.
This proposal writer will support all of Leidos’s Lines of Business in new business capture activities. The writer will exclusively write for proposals and new business activities, with a specific focus on proposal writing and technical editing. Candidate will be responsible for Management, Technical, and Past Performance Volume Leadership and compliance. A successful candidate must possess the ability to engage solutions architects and subject matter experts, capture key concepts and ideas, write in clear and concise language, maintain consistency in tone and voice, and use proper English, syntax and grammar. The candidate may also be called upon to write marketing publications, and proposal documentation such as program management plans, past performance volumes, staffing plans, and resumes.
This individual will be responsible for managing all resources essential to the successful execution of the Leidos Capture Process (Win Plan) and compliant delivery of proposals, ECPs, ENs, etc. This will include, but is not limited to, the development and management of a proposal plan, schedule, and strategies; direct training of capture teams; providing daily direction to capture teams, volume leads and support personnel; lead proposal volumes as required; write and edit as required, support capture/proposal color team review meetings and assume responsibility for integrating all proposal activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
Expert Level Technical Writing Skills.
Strong Analytical Problem Solving Skills.
Ability to communicate with positive impact.
Ability to adapt to schedule changes & slips, project re-scopes, and customer directed changes to ensure compliant product delivery.
Ability to travel to support proposal efforts as needed.
The successful candidate will be able to join new projects quickly, and work effectively with a diverse group of others.
Teamwork is an essential quality, as is the ability to work effectively while under tight deadlines.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.
Candidate must have the ability to travel on occasion to support proposal efforts. Travel may not be likely, but pending the specific needs of the capture we’d like to reserve it as a possibility.
Expert Level Technical/Proposal writer with Business Development and Competitive Proposal experience.
Knowledge of Leidos Business Development Capture Process (Win Plan). Knowledge and understanding of Leidos non-disclosure and
Previous capture/proposal experience, past performance experience, and program experience.
TS/SCI security clearance is a plus.
