About the Role

We are looking for a result-driven Finance Officer to manage our organization’s accounting record keeping and financial reporting. As the Finance Officer, your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency will aid our organization in maintaining accurate and timely reports, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support organizational strategy.

Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Intercompany reconciliation,
  • Cash collection update and reconciliation with Cash collection Unit
  • Revenue Reconciliation and Posting
  • Payment file Analysis and posting
  • Revenue postings
  • Staff Support review and payment
  • Finance cost posting and reconciliation
  • Sales commission posting
  • Finance Partnering
  • End of service benefit sheet reconciliation and posting
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Responsible for Generating Budget variance analysis, distributing to budget holders and conducting follow ups.

Corporate Finance

Under the supervision of the Group Corporate Finance Manager and the Finance Manager, ensuring compliance with all financial reporting and forecasting requirements of donors and others, 

Under the supervision of the Group Corporate Finance Manager and the Finance Manager, to support good working relationships with all service providers and relevant donor finance officers.

Ensuring that expenditure is incurred and reported in line with donor agreements.

Providing financial guidance to all project staff as directed.

Ensuring effective use of personnel and resources.

Legal and Statutory Compliance

  • Payroll Review and payment
  • Support the operation of payroll for all staff in Liberia and compliance with Liberian tax legislation, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and National Social Security Corporation (NASSCORP). 
  • Understanding and compliance with relevant anti-corruption legislation
  • Undertaking other duties that management staff might request

Management, Training & Capacity Building

  • Partly participate in the development of training manuals for staff.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • At least 3- 5 years experience in the same field in a similar role
  • Proven experience in finance management
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles in theory and application
  • Proficiency in accounting software specifically Xero, Quickbooks or similar accounting software.
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to manage the complexities and prioritize assignments
  • Should have the ability of paying attention to details with a high level of accuracy
  • Must have effective planning skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
