The Opportunity:

The Office of Human Resources is looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our team! Assist with human resources activities on various assigned projects that will focus on specific areas within talent development, talent acquisition, total rewards, employee engagement, and/or people data analytics. This position is ideal for students looking to obtain experience in Human Resources by exploring a variety of HR-related projects. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Support human resources policy research and benchmarking initiatives
  • Research performance management, professional development, and diversity inclusion best practices
  • Participate and assist with company social and networking events, including career fairs, and summer internship program document experiences for internal newsletter/ publications on Urban’s Intern Program
  • Assist with drafting other HR-related internal communications, including researching topics, authoring/compiling content, and coordinating with employee engagement
  • Meet with management to reflect on your personal and professional development
  • Document processes and procedures that may increase administrative efficiencies
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Who You Are:

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Have advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Possess intellectual curiosity for the intersection of organizational effectiveness and talent management.
  • Show initiative and an interest in applying problem-solving skills
  • Be detail-oriented and collaborate with others
  • Have strong organizational, project management, and communication skills

Who You Are:

  • 10-week paid internship; full-time preferred, but strong candidates will be considered for part-time positions
  • Internship program designed to provide students interested in research, public policy issues, and organizational operations with rewarding and substantive work assignments that contribute to Urban’s mission
  • Intern Program Dates: June 10th to August 9th 2024
  • Participate in our New Intern “Welcome” Orientation
  • Network with Operations Staff, Senior Professionals, and others who will support your professional growth and career interests
  • Participate in intern-specific workshops and networking events designed to advance your professional development and build your soft skills
  • Engage in team-building activities that forge new friendships with other Urban Interns
  • Receive informal feedback and mentoring from your intern manager
  • Present the value of your contribution and what you learned during our End of Summer Lightning Talks
