Senior Finance Analyst, Financial Reporting

OVERVIEW:

As a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) on the Financial Reporting team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic Global Accounting Organization (GAO) team and interact with multiple business partners in order to maintain external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements. 

This role offers many unique developmental opportunities, including:

  • Frequent partnership with multiple corporate and finance functions in addition to exposure to leaders within Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Global Impact, and Global Accounting Operations, among others.
  • Involvement in significant enterprise initiatives in support of our Accelerate strategy to drive shareholder value.
  • Involvement in technology transformation initiatives to drive process improvements.
  • Contribution to General Mills’ ESG reporting, including assessment of evolving reporting requirements and financial reporting implications of General Mills’ ESG initiatives.
  • Deepening accounting, controls, and reporting technical expertise from both recurring and nonrecurring activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Prepare quarterly SEC filings and provide integral support to our Investor Relations team on external press releases and presentations.
  • Support GAO teams by providing subject matter expertise on the global consolidation and external financial reporting processes.
  • Contribute to General Mills’ ESG reporting, including assessment of evolving reporting requirements and financial reporting implications of General Mills’ ESG initiatives.
  • Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close accounting, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  • Partner with GAO teams to assess impacts of changing business activities to accounting process, reporting process and controls, and contribute to adequate solutions to meet business need.
  • Drive process improvement in our dynamic global accounting & controls environment.
  • Contribute to technology transformation initiatives with GAO teams to drive external reporting process improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on topics critical to company strategy and results.
  • Monitor the external environment for new financial reporting guidance and contribute to the implementation of new guidance as applicable.
  • Partner with and manage various external business partners, including consultants and external auditors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Accounting
  • 2-3 years relevant experience, including public accounting, consolidations, and/or SEC reporting
  • Detailed-oriented, results-oriented, proactive
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to process excellence
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Aptitude for broad US GAAP subject matter
  • Ability to work independently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA
  • Master’s in Accounting
  • Big Four public accounting firm experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion (HFM)

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS: 

  • We are open to 100% remote candidates with travel based on business needs.
  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $77900.00 - $117000.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
