OVERVIEW

Alpine is seeking candidates to fill the Capital Markets & Strategic Finance MBA Intern role, a 12-week role with the potential to extend employment based on individual performance and business needs. The team is open to a traditional summer internship or part-time as a potential precursor to a full-time role.

The Capital Markets & Strategic Finance MBA Intern will work with Alpine's investing team and external financing partners to deliver ready-to-sign debt deals that support new and existing portfolio companies. This role will be instrumental in building the systems and processes required to scale Alpine’s Capital Markets function to support the firm's continued growth. The role will report to Alpine's Head of Capital Markets and Strategic Finance, Jack Armstrong.

Join our growing, nimble team of four (just two last year) which closed 20 credit facilities in 2023 – leading to the achievement of #8 most active sponsor in the direct lending market per KBRA Analytics (tying with Thoma Bravo).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support the execution of all new deals, recapitalizations, and incremental debt facility raises
  • Build out and maintain a management system for the Alpine portfolio that tracks ongoing portfolio performance, risk factors, and KPIs
  • Assess existing portfolio capital stacks and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Support the development of regular market updates, including latest trends, terms, and key macroeconomic drivers
  • Build and maintain third-party lender and service provider relationships
  • Supporting the management of the Alpine portfolio, working with the fund management team to optimize fund financing, manage risk, and analyze portfolio construction
  • Discrete project management of key firm, business, and asset-level initiatives across capital markets in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including supporting and influencing management teams and Boards

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience; MBA (or candidate) from a highly regarded institution plus 3-7 years of management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or credit experience
  • Sound business judgment with the ability to identify critical success factors in a project or process
  • Proven ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Experience interacting directly with service providers, lenders, and/or private equity sponsors
  • Ability to build processes and identify and correct inefficiencies
  • Reflect Alpine’s core values

COMPENSATION

The pay range for this temporary role is expected to be between $10,000-12,000 per month. Actual pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and the applicant’s skill set.
