Position Summary

In partnership with key internal stakeholders, the Senior Director of Executive Communications will build and drive a structured and measurable executive communications program for the CEO and Brand Chief. This includes establishing a narrative that demonstrates industry leadership and that advances priority business objectives as well as counseling leadership on high-impact opportunities. Drive engagement through strategic thought leadership initiatives with key external partners and platforms, including but not limited to NRF, Aspen Ideas Festival, World Economic Forum, Business Round Table, university commencement addresses, and awards.

This individual will also identify additional company spokespeople, evaluate and determine the needs narratives for each, and pursue thought leadership opportunities (speaking, media, social) accordingly, ultimately building awareness and increasing positive reputation for the brand. Serve as key contributor to Corporate Communications initiatives, story mining, and determine appropriate channels for content amplification. Consult on internal engagements involving core leadership bench and ensure consistency in messaging and preparation for leaders. Closely align with business on upcoming launches, announcements, products to ensure awareness and determine how/when to leverage executive voices. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create executive narrative and messaging for CEO
  • Enhance the awareness, brand identity and reputation of Under Armour through key strategic external partnerships
  • Build and maintain relationships with key top tier think tanks, organizations, and influencers
  • Provide informed and accurate executive briefings
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization to continue to evolve executive narrative based off of UA’s innovation, culture, people, diversity and inclusion efforts etc.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Strategic development of executive external platform with strategic partners
  • Management of CEO social channels 
  • Excellent writing and project management skills
  • Strong interest in consumer brands, finance, and commerce
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing business needs
  • Good judgment and attention to detail – particularly in confidential situations and high-pressure times
  • Excellent ability to understand complex ideas and distill sometimes ambiguous issues

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 15+ years of experience in communications or public relations (PR agency experience a plus)
  • Past success leading and executing global C-Suite executive communications programs

Other Requirements

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD
  • Work-Life Integration (WLI) Designation: Three (3) days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote at home
  • Domestic & International Travel

Relocation

  • Relocation provided
  • Base salary range: $189,021.00-$259,903.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
