The Security Analyst is part of a team responsible for security incident response, hands-on investigation, forensic analysis for security issues affecting test delivery in Pearson VUE’s global network of testing centers. This position requires experience in conducting investigations and fraud in a testing environment.

Incident Response, Investigation and Analysis

  • Maintain response plans for different types of test security alerts and incidents
  • Respond to, investigate, document, track and remediate test security alerts and incidents
  • Respond to security issues or concerns escalated from other departments
  • Liaise with program coordinators, program managers, technical support and other departments in response actions as required
  • Identify and preserve all relevant evidence pertaining to security incidents and investigations
  • Ensure chain of custody, retention and deletion procedures are followed for all test security data
  • Undertake analysis of test security data and reports and external forensic artifacts
  • Conduct investigative research using the internet and online databases
  • Maintain accurate and extensive documentation of incident history, analysis, findings and responses
  • Collaborate with test sponsors on joint investigations as required
  • Prepare incident notification and closure reports for management and test sponsors
  • Coordinate corrective actions, enforcement actions and appeals involving candidates and test centers

Security Operations

  • Document, review and continuously improve the usefulness of security processes and procedures
  • Identify and submit requests for system enhancements or new tools needed to meet the evolving needs of the security team
  • Facilitate regular and ad hoc operational security meetings with program mangers and test sponsors
  • Coordinate the introduction of new or enhanced security services to existing and new test sponsors
  • Proactively identify, analyze and escalate potential issues, concerns and roadblocks to manager and other areas of the business as appropriate
  • Participate in and contribute to the ongoing information security and data protection awareness programs
  • Participate in other security projects and initiatives as required

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in related field preferred
  • Research and/or investigative experience in corporate or fraud investigation, paralegal research, litigation preparation, loss prevention or information security preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software suite
