We are currently looking for a full-time Project Engineer to be based in our growing Gretna, LA Toxicology Laboratory facility. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Infrastructure & Operational Excellence, the qualified candidate will be part of our highly dynamic team managing exciting projects with the goal of safely and successfully delivering them on time, within budget and scope.


Responsibilities

The position is responsible for coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors for timely execution of projects

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget

  • Communicate project status updates, address priority challenges and coordinate risk mitigation

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Report and escalate to management as needed

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Education in Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, construction management or related fields

  • Experience in managing or assisting with Environment, Health & Safety programs

  • Experience in Managing a diverse range of Projects in a complex work environment

  • Formal Project Management training and certification a plus

  • Experience in facilities design and modification, site relocation, interior construction a plus

  • Experience in laboratory or other Science/Tech related environments a plus

  • Experience in Lean and Six Sigma a must, LSS certification a plus

  • Experience leading successful project team, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities

  • Experience in project cost estimation, bidding, vendor relations and site coordination

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
