We’ve got an amazing track record of success and fostering ongoing innovation. Our Product Managers stand at the leading edge of this disruption, and are responsible for guiding new products at Apex by combining financial industry research and our technical expertise. 

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead Apex’s client API experience including “front door” and client sandbox solutions. As the Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing the product roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving adoption of the API and sandbox among clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute a product roadmap for Apex’s public API platform, gateway, and client sandbox experience in alignment with the company's overall strategy and goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure Apex’s API and sandbox meet customer needs. 
  • Define and track key metrics to measure the success of Apex’s API and sandbox, including quality, usage, adoption, and client developer satisfaction. 
  • Lead the development of documentation, sample code, and other resources to make it easy for developers to use Apex’s API and sandbox. 
  • Drive adoption of Apex’s API and sandbox among clients and partners, through outreach, education, and community building. 
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to APIs and developer platforms. 
  • Generate energy to motivate the team throughout the entire product cycle. 
  • Position requires 25% time for travel. (We’re a distributed company.) 

Required experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, co-founder or related technical role
  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping technical products 
  • Experience leading product development and execution for cross-functional teams
  • Experience researching, defining and documenting market and product requirements
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
  • Demonstrated full-lifecycle ownership of product development 
  • Understanding of user experience, web development, API standards, and Agile practices, with a strong preference for best practices and incremental delivery
  • Ability to dig into business or technical problems and find pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority 
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to make informed product decisions.
  • Willing to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week 

Desired experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS or engineering degree) or equivalent experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a strong background in APIs and developer platforms
  • Experience delivering developer experiences including customer sandboxes, SDKs, customer engagement programs, and ‘front door’ / API gateway services
  • Experience in building and scaling platform systems including software licensing and provisioning, administrative self-service tools, data portability, and 3rd party data integrations 
  • Experience researching, defining and documenting competitive technical infrastructure and/or platform requirements 
  • Product Management experience building B2B SaaS solutions; Financial Services (Payments, Brokerage, Wealth Management, Trading, Clearing, Settlements, etc) industry experience is a strong plus
