ResMed is transforming its Creative Operations toward a global in-house agency model in support of rapidly evolving Marketing strategies. We are seeking a Global Creative Director who brings a thoughtful, brand-forward approach to 360 Marketing campaign strategy for both B2B and B2C. Your ability to direct multiple teams to concept and implement the “big ideas” capable of moving hearts and minds in support of behavior change will be vital to success in this role.

Reporting to the Head of Global Creative, you will be partnering with leadership across Brand, Corporate Communications, Customer Experience/Insights, Product and Marketing teams and other business stakeholders to design and develop regional and global marketing strategies involving new product introduction, advertising, digital marketing, product marketing, corporate image, brand identity and experiential campaigns. You will be responsible for the quality and effectiveness of marketing creative generated by the agency and will lead and manage a team of creative leaders and supplier partners (including external agencies) to ensure every campaign meets the goal(s) of a given creative brief.

Success in this role requires a track record of coaching and inspiring global creative teams to develop conceptual design solutions that drive growth for the business. You will be responsible for elevating our creative solutions to world-class, award-winning levels while producing measurable results against business objectives. Relationship management and collaboration at all levels of the organization and working with global teams across multiple functions will be required.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision, thought and functional leadership for our in-house agency’s integrated creative team (and external agency partners).
  • Lead and mentor creative people leaders and their teams in conceptual strategies, innovative design techniques and new marketing approaches, including experiential, to continually elevate work across all channels.
  • Build strong, trusted, collaborative partnerships with peers and key constituents across the organization, particularly in Brand, Corporate Communications, UX/UI, Customer Experience & Insights, to drive global creative strategy aligned to global business strategy.
  • Assess and critique the work of creative team in a supportive, curious manner that elevates the solution(s) while building safe space for creative exploration.
  • Develop a deep understanding of ResMed audiences and their journeys and apply knowledge of human-centered design (HCD) and outside the box thinking to inform effective, audience focused creative solutions that deliver business growth.
  • Inspire passion and big ideas around both our business and the future we’re building toward, both within the creative team and for the business in general.
  • Ensure all creative solutions align with strategic objectives and satisfy all requirements of the brief.
  • Lead formalization around ways of working including briefing, resourcing, reviews, pitching/selling in creative concepts and collaboration.
  • Facilitate and guide strategic thinking during creative kick-off meetings, brainstorming sessions and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team in estimating level of effort for project initiatives and advise on creative staffing requirements/needs when necessary.
  • Ensure that the creative team continually delivers high-quality work in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Offer organizational, management, and process ideas to leadership and peers to foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence that enables world-class creative.
  • Promote use of the in-house agency across the organization as opportunities arise.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience

  • 15 years of related experience including progressive experience as a visual/graphic designer and 7+ years as a CD or ACD within an agency or corporate in-house agency setting.
  • Must have led multi-disciplinary creative teams of 15+ people (preference for those who have built and led creative teams across global geographies).
  • Impressive portfolio demonstrating strength as both a conceptual designer and creative director with emphasis on effective marketing and advertising campaigns that extend across channels.
  • Expert knowledge of all steps required in the creative development process, including providing clear creative direction, giving timely and helpful coaching to improve creative and producing all work on time and on budget.
  • Proven leadership style that prioritizes clarity, team empowerment and ownership of assigned projects.
  • Strength in creating campaign concepts that flow seamlessly across channels including both print and digital formats.
  • Experience partnering with Brand teams around brand re-fresh and evolution initiatives and supporting consistent brand experiences across all touch points that push and evolve the brand.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to apply creative and design to solving complex business goals.
  • Exceptional people and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with emphasis on creative “pitching” of concepts and comfort communicating at all decision-making levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and flexible in adapting and responding to changing situations.
  • Mastery of primary Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Experience with Workfront, Asana and other project management platforms a plus.

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

Subject to the absolute discretion of the company, this role is eligible for an annual cash bonus payment based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. 

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is:

$170,000.00 - $254,000.00 US

For remote positions located outside of the US, pay will be determined based the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
