Job Description

The Position

The position is responsible for providing financial leadership, guidance and advice to Business Technology (BT). 

Responsibilities

  • Business case support, review & approval.
  • Process simplification support.
  • Enterprise savings support & analysis.
  • Development of strategic, operational and financial plans, including the annual budget, periodic forecasts and long-range operating plans.
  • General department/cost center financial support activities:
  • Expense management/controlling/identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting departmental initiatives.
  • Monthly close process, including accruals, amortization and capital depreciation.
  • Management Reporting – performance management/trends/variance analysis/corrective actions.
  • Ad hoc reporting/analysis.
  • Evaluate, build and implement new processes and tools that solve client problems and that improve our efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure alignment and integration of other functional support groups (e.g., Procurement, Commercial Operations, etc.) into Functional plans to ensure realization of the stated strategic intent.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Required: BS/BA degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • Advanced degree/certification such as an MBA or CPA would be beneficial.
  • Minimum of five years of operations or finance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in broad areas such as business administration, strategic planning and analysis, managing and allocating resources, and operational and financial planning and management.
  • Ability to provide strategic direction for business operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, evaluate, organize, direct, and deliver on operational objectives in the areas of planning, finance, and metric setting.
  • Ability to drive continuous operational improvement.
  • Sound and balanced judgment; ability to assess and handle risk; decisiveness.
  • Clear, courageous and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in synthesizing data and visualizing in executive presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, and with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Process improvement orientation, innovative change agent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence; ability to build internal and external relationships.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • SAP/SAC skills.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or related organization.

Travel: Less than 5% International Travel
