Position Overview

The Office of Global Affairs (OGA) Content Creator / Multimedia Specialist (student position) works within the OGA Marketing Team as a videographer and content creator on a variety of marketing projects. Primary tasks include operating video cameras, equipment, and editing software in the content creation of videos, ads, interviews, or other videos as needed. The Content Creator will work with different UCO departments, student leaders, faculty and staff to develop and deliver digital marketing content focused on prospective international students to best encourage them to enroll at UCO. This position reports to the Director of Recruitment & Marketing in the Office of Global Affairs. Videographers should have a demo reel with examples of their work and creative style to help us decide if they’re right for the position.

Hours per Week

• 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
• Up to 35 hours per week in the summer.

The Office of Global Affairs (OGA) is dedicated to helping and supporting all of UCO's international students, international programs, and global activities.

Department Specific Job Functions

• Develop high-quality multimedia content, including videos, photos, and graphics.
• Collaborate with team members to conceptualize, coordinate, and execute creative projects, such as student testimonial videos.
• Utilize software such as, Adobe Creative Suite, for photo and video editing to produce visually compelling images.
• Operate DSLR and Blackmagic cameras and production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment.
• Use Adobe Photoshop and/or Canva to create thumbnails and flyers as needed.

Enrollment Requirements

Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.

Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.

Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. Qualifications/Experience Preferred

• Proficiency in Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut or Da Vinci Resolve.
• Experience using DSLR and Blackmagic cameras.
• Experience with Photoshop.
• Demonstrated proficiency in video creation.
• Ability to work well with others on a team.
• Enrolled as a current student at UCO.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of the target audience (international students) to help with strategy, decision making and outreach efforts.
• Detail oriented.
• Dependable.
• Have sensitivity of intercultural communication, and good interpersonal skills.
