CYBER SECURITY ANALYST I

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst I for JBS that reports onsite at the data center in Richardson, Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Degree in Information Systems or related field
  • 3+ years in IT, certifications or 1+ years in the Security industry
  • Familiarity with basic functionality of common critical business systems
  • Demonstrated some ability to execute security controls, defense strategies, and countermeasures to intercept or prevent internal or external cyber attacks
  • Maintain cyber defense hardware, software, firewalls, and intrusion detections systems
  • Basic understanding of Cloud Security frameworks
  • Understand concepts behind vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and scanning
  • Some studying on information needed to provide management an impact to the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration, or denial of service to information systems
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in Incident response teams
  • Understanding of hardening systems against outside cyber penetration or attack
  • Basic experience with Active Directory, Windows Security/Administration & DNS management
  • Mid-level understanding of infrastructure technologies with heavy emphasis on securing systems
  • Basic understanding with EDR, SIEM, and other cyber defense tools
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to details
  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and inside a team
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Secure and defend critical business systems from internal and external threats
  • Uncover vulnerabilities and threat vectors through ‘white hat’ ethical hacking techniques
  • Responsible for gathering, recovering, analyzing, and reporting on computer-based electronic evidence related to cyber offensive activities
  • Advise and recommend on security solutions appropriate to cyber defense
  • Use tracking systems to keep an exact record of each request and the action taken
  • Use tools like SIEM, EDR, security CMDBs, and other log sources to gather telemetry/endpoint data and identify risk vectors
  • Escalate to IT management whenever conflicts in access are discovered
  • Work with Internal and External audit teams to resolve any issues or threats
  • Troubleshoot basic cyber defense, access, or permissions issues
  • Evaluate security vendors and partners to make informed recommendations on security products and services
  • Respond and troubleshoot security issues of various complexities
  • Work collaboratively with a team to deploy security frameworks, devices and applications
  • Complete projects in a timely manner
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
