Job Description

We’re currently looking for Fresh Graduate Commercial Contract Specialist – part of the Commercial Management team, which provides commercial management services to the UK B2B business in order to assist in profitably reaching its financial targets with an acceptable level of commercial and contractual risk.

The Commercial Management team is responsible for supporting the business from a contractual perspective by supporting, and where required leading, the negotiation and conclusion of commercial contracts with our customers. The team is supported by the Legal, Compliance, Strategic Pricing and Finance teams to ensure that the wider commercial considerations are taken into account when structuring, negotiating and concluding deals.

You're probably wondering what you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring that all contract templates used for the sale of products and services across all business units are available from a central repository;
  • Ensuring that contract templates are up to date and work with the relevant internal teams to make changes;
  • Helping drafting contract templates with assistance where required;
  • Working closely with product owners and support functions (legal, compliance, etc..) to understand the contractual requirements;
  • Ensuring that relevant instructions and guidelines are created to help with the correct use of the contract templates;
  • Providing coaching and training to internal teams to use contract templates and clauses;
  • Leading and supporting projects to update and optimise contract templates and contractual content;
  • Contributing to the improvement, management and maintenance of commercial processes; 
  • Helping drafting contracts with clients;
  • Developing own knowledge and understanding of commercial and contractual matters across the relevant business units and verticals;
  • Ensuring that correct Commercial Management processes are followed;
  • Performing other appropriate tasks as required by the Senior Commercial Manager.

Qualifications

We look for you to bring:

  • Fresh graduate with Legal degree qualification;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills;
  • Ability to prioritize workload;
  • Ability to read and understand contracts, ability to explain and negotiate with assistance specific terms;
  • Proactively developing relationships by listening to and understanding both internal parties and clients;
  • Confident and adaptable team player;
  • Excellent attention to detail and proactive approach to all tasks;
  • Self-driven, proactively looking for continuous improvement in processes and self;
  • Microsoft Office including Word and Excel ability – Good level.
