Software Engineer Intern - OS Engineering

We’re looking for dedicated students to join our OS Engineering team in building core operating system and base containers used across all production environments, major cloud providers and services.

WHAT WE EXPECT: 

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program during the time of the internship
  • Desired majors: Computer Science
  • Required coursework: operating systems, algorithms and data structures
  • Recommended coursework: cloud computing, database systems, or distributed systems 
  • Duration: 10-12 weeks recommended
  • Passion for core software engineering fundamentals and willingness to learn from top engineers.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Strong problem solving and ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with working as a part of a team
  • Dedication and passion for technology

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN/GAIN:

  • How to build enterprise-grade, reliable, and trustworthy software/services
  • Contribute to the operating system and tooling used across all production machines at Snowflake, influencing its functionality, performance, test and iteration speed.
  • Collaborate with product management, and other software engineers to deliver new infrastructure platform capabilities.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure, AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud in particular.
