Overview

Coordinates the training of newly hired employees and the staffing, retention and development of Skill Trainers. Conducts new employee orientation. Manages the staffing and development of Skill Trainer team to support new employee training. Supports Personal Achievement Responsibility (PAR) progression, compliance training and new system rollouts.

Responsibilities

  1. Skill Trainer Staffing and Development

a. Develop and maintain a Skill Trainer Staffing Plan

i. Posts Skill Trainer Positions

ii. In partnership with the GM conducts interviews and selects qualified candidates to become certified Skill Trainers.

b. Manages the development and training of Skill Trainers.

i. Oversees Skill Trainer Academy which includes tracking trainer certification progress

ii. Tracks Skill Trainer meeting attendance in CBU

iii. Prepares & presents Skill Trainer evaluations

2. Rising Star Training

a. Manages the Orientation training process for all Rising Star Employees

b. Develops and maintains the Training Plan for the Rising Star

c. Conducts Rising Star Meetings

d. Conducts Plate Appearance Class (for new Servers & Grill)

e. Conducts Point of Sale (POS) Workbook training

3. Compliance Training Administration

a. Provides training support to the store for regulatory training requirements and other policy reviews as needed or assigned (Food Protection Manager, Food Handler, Employment Policy reviews, and training)

4. Personal Achievement Responsibility (PAR) Progression Oversight

a. Provides guidance to the store management team on PAR progression so the management team can ensure PAR progression and participation

i. Analyze PAR reports for concerns and opportunities

ii. Follows up with Employees to encourage PAR participation

iii. Posts PAR eligibility reports

iv. Prepares distributes, and orders PAR Certificates for Promotion and new hire aprons

b. Troublehoots with the PAR Department any PAR promotion issues

5. Store Management Collaboration

a. Champions Cracker Barrel's policies to ensure a safe work environment that encourages and celebrates diverse workforce that reflects the local community

b. Role models the Quality and Service Standards within the Cycle of Service at all times, whether it is interacting with the Guests, cleanliness, organization, hospitality, or appearance

c. Attends all Restauarant meetings

d. Supports new system or equipment rollout training.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Education

  • 2 years of Restaurant Experience
  • 1 year of experience in training new employees
  • High School Diploma Preferred
