This individual serves as a business partner to the enterprise – building a bridge from the business needs expressed or discovered to marketing applications through our creative and marketing operations teams.

This position's main goal will be to facilitate effective communication of CRST's strategic objectives to the enterprise. This position will lead the deployment, implementation, and management of highly effective internal communications strategies and programs to keep Team CRST informed and inspired. This position will work with business partners within our Enterprise Services up to CRST senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

This role is tasked with understanding the possible in each situation and supporting progress from tactical communications requests to concerted employee engagement efforts. General business acumen, organizational engagement, and strong project management skills are critical.

The Senior Internal Communications Manager is responsible for:

  • Develops and supervises the execution of communication campaigns and programs that engage Team CRST and support the communication of enterprise goals and initiatives. Manages the day-to-day employee engagement plans to align with strategic initiatives and to meet established objectives.
  • Serves as a liaison between Marketing’s Creative and Operations Teams and the enterprise.
  • Plans, edits, and writes content for employee engagement channels including an intranet platform, newsletters, speeches, and social and direct other creative assets such as photos and videos. Ensures application of CRST brand standards to maximize impact and engagement.
  • Develops and manages annual enterprise communications editorial calendar in collaboration with key stakeholders from across the business. Understanding any rouge communication efforts that may compete with target audience attention. Work with businesses to create and schedule content that can be shared on appropriate channels to engage target audiences.
  • Assisting in coordinating Team CRST events and activities. Works with CRST Marketing Project Manager and social media specialist to develop a plan that maximizes engagement on social media before, during, and after events that helps position CRST as an employer of choice.
  • Monitors campaign and communications results – adjust as needed – KPI reporting

Experience writing marketing and executive communications for internal audiences

5 years:

5 or more years of experience as a business writer who can adapt style based on audience needs and business objectives

5 years:

5 years of communication project management experience including plan development, project team management, requirement gathering, delivery and deployment

5 years:

5 years of experience leveraging communication strategies to build community and drive engagement at an organization.

Preferred

Bring an innovative mindset and an expectation for timely, high-quality communications, while aligning work to the enterprise's internal content strategy, topic narratives, and governance.

Focus on strategic planning, managing, developing, and deploying internal communications in various formats that help all employees feel valued, engaged, and inspired. Scope of work would include leading or supporting communication projects that might extend to external audiences, as well as leveraging content planned for external channels to share with internal audiences.

Experience measuring and reporting on communication performance.

Expertise in digital communication tools and best practices

Experience advising executives, leadership teams, and internal partners on executive-level messaging, change management communications, employee engagement and strategic campaigns.

Demonstrated ability to create storytelling content (whether that’s writing, videos, digital, etc.) on your own, while also showing you have solid experience working with agencies and others for support.
