Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience debugging, writing test plans, or working within a lab and data center environment with data center hardware.
  • 5 years of experience with standard networking protocols, various cabling and interconnect technologies (e.g., fiber or copper).
  • Experience with Linux.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with program management methodologies.
  • Experience with tool development and scripting/automation in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Go, Java, etc.).
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data sets.
  • Knowledge of computer systems (e.g., physical, functional, logical, mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, etc.).
  • Knowledge of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage constant priority changes and deadlines.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

As a Hardware Verification Engineer, you will focus on making significant contributions to all phases of designing, new feature specification, testing procedures development, and validating hardware and system-level tests. You will help conduct audits of performance qualification processes to ensure compliance with internal or regulatory requirements. In this role, you will assist the Engineering team with root cause analysis for problems identified during verification testing and utilize a variety of debugging tools and methodologies to isolate and analyze problems. You will contribute to cross-project collaborations and reviews by working in teams and sharing knowledge related to all steps of design verification.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $119,000-$175,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive design verification and validation test plans for assigned projects.
