Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Development Director of Cloud Applications Development with a passion for developing our Student Cloud solution. Candidates will be responsible for:

  • Managing and leading a world class development team.
  • Delivering large-scale projects on-time with high quality.
  • Guiding developers in day-to-day design and coding tasks, stepping into code as well.
  • Design and implementation of projects.
  • Working closely with Leadership team, Product Managers, Architects, Quality Assurance, and other dependent development teams (ERP, HCM, CX)
  • Growing your team by recruiting and hiring top talent.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Leadership team and Product Managers to design and develop the Student Cloud product, informed by market analysis, customer feedback, sales channels, and technology innovations
  • Help define the Cloud roadmap for the offering to maximize customer adoption and customer value
  • Working and influencing various development teams and stakeholders to ensure the product is developed and delivered as planned
  • Collaborate and influence customer success teams to ensure successful customer deployments and strong references
  • Demonstrate effective and charismatic leadership, motivate team, ensure and enforce adoption of scrum and agile development 

The ideal candidate has the following profile:

  • Experience building features with technologies like Modern Javascript frameworks/libraries (Angular), REST services, Java, ADF, SOA, PL/SQL, Oracle Database. Certified scrum Master or experience with operating scrum teams , Agile methodology. 
  • 8+ years of development management experience on SaaS products leading global engineering teams in US, India, Philippines, Australia etc.
  • You have high level of energy and initiative. You can lead virtual teams, partner across organizational boundaries and influence development direction.
  • Ability to motivate, grow and guide developers.
  • You work independently and solve problems and are willing to do what it takes to get things done.
  • You have the ability to build relationships and influence outside of authority while leveraging Oracle expertise and resources.
  • Effective communication skills (written and spoken) and strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Junit, build & dev ops tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile development and rapid deployment in the Student Cloud/SaaS environment
  • Strong inclination towards test driven development
  • Effective in working with remote teams spread across time zones (USA, India, Manila, Singapore)
  • BS or MS in computer science or equivalent

Desirable qualifications for this position are

  • Knowledge of Oracle ADF, Oracle JET , Oracle Application Composer, Oracle Sales Cloud Vertical development tools a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Applications Seeded Customization Framework, OATs. PSR Tools, Accessibility Testing Tools preferred
  • Understanding of REST interface design
  • Experiences in scripting languages
  • Experiences with cloud platforms, cloud technologies/deployments
  • Experience in continuous delivery, deployment and monitoring of cloud-based services.
