Philo: TV on the Internet (TVoIP)

Design and Build: This role works closely with both the Product and Marketing teams. Both teams are responsible for designing, building, testing, and quite literally reinventing television, creating and telling people about the most engaging product ever created, across web, mobile, and TV platforms. Each member of our team works together on the entire product experience. It’s not uncommon to go from brainstorming strategic considerations to polishing design details, from understanding how the product experience affects performance to the different needs of different platforms.

Motion Designer/Editor at Philo

We are looking for a motion designer and video editor to join the team to create, edit, and mix video assets and motion designs for Philo’s marketing, and communications needs. As a Motion Designer you would both design and help drive the process–from developing new ideas to getting the details right. You would help execute on our team’s vision of making Philo into a richly visual television brand, both providing creative solutions and rolling up your sleeves to make deliverables. You should have project expertise with motion design, video editing, digital marketing, and experience cataloging, managing, and referencing video storage assets for large and complex productions/projects. You must be comfortable working across graphic, motion, and advertising media. You should be able to take an idea from concept to launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Create solutions combining our channel/show/movie branded content with our identity
  • Develop motion for product UI to be used in editorial content
  • Support marketing’s video needs including but not limited to:
  • Feature trailers using partner provided content
  • Branded product tutorial videos
  • Tagged partner content
  • Social videos
  • Help build and develop infrastructure for storing and archiving footage and project files
  • Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing
  • Ability to both execute projects from start to finish, as well as manage external partners or larger video projects when necessary. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong portfolio, a set of self-initiated projects; including work samples that exhibit strong
  • understanding of motion design demonstrating design chops and editorial instincts
  • 5-7 years of experience in editorial and motion design work, at a creative agency or an in-house team
  • Some experience with sound production and shooting video is a plus
  • Experience with television content and marketing needs is a plus
  • Attention to detail and articulating design considerations

Compensation: Includes annual salary between $135K-$165K depending on experience and location, company stock options, and health benefits.
