We are looking for an Operations Supervisor for the HPS Delft plant. The person we are looking for is an experienced Operational leader, self-starter, high energy and a highly-motivated individual who has a strong drive for results and leads by example. The candidate should have relevant experience in the areas of people management, assembly management, a good understanding of technically complex products and sufficient ERP knowledge. 

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for a successful operation of the manufacturing work area. He/she directly supervises production employees in their assigned work area and provides day-to-day guidance to employees on product area planning, methods, operations and quality. Fosters a high-performance culture, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with corporate and site policies and applicable laws. Drives continuous improvement within the work area, utilizing 6 sigma and lean principles. Delivers on safety, quality, delivery and cost goals to meet both customer and internal expectations.

Environment

This role is part of the ISC/Operations function of our site. ISC includes disciplines such as; HSE, Operations (assembly and testing), Production Engineering, Quality, Materials and Logistics.

The Operations Supervisor reports to the Site Leader and interacts with the HSE Leader, Materials Supervisor, Quality Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering department, HR and Sourcing.

Key Accountabilities

Ensures awareness and consistent adherence of the Honeywell Safety Management and Environmental system and the regulatory requirements in the production areas.

Manages capacity of the different work cells within the production department and adjusts schedules and staffing to meet the production plan.

Provides first level leadership and guidance to production employees in the manufacturing area; manages the performance of all production employees on a daily basis. Maintains effective communications and professionalism when dealing with employees, including effectively addressing conflicts, contributes to a positive work environment based on teamwork and cooperation.

Effectively executes appraisal and team training.

Conduct daily meetings with direct reports (Tier 1) and other ISC functions (Tier 2).

Invites and supervises external visiting authorities such as NMi and mechanics for various production equipment.

Responsible for driving area productivity and continuous improvement of processes and culture in line with organization objectives.

Knowledge and Experience required

Theoretical

Community college (MBO) or bachelor degree (HBO); preferably Industrial - or Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology;

Knowledge / experience of Assembly processes;

Knowledge / experience of Lean tools (Kanban, continuous flow, standardized work), preferably green belt certified.

Practical

Knowledge of assembly and certification processes;

Knowledge and leadership in the areas of Lean Manufacturing implementation and Six Sigma practices;

Exceptional people skills such as conflict resolution, listening, coaching and mentoring, and ability to give constructive feedback;

Determination to continuously improve teamwork and production processes in order to meet and exceed cost, quality and delivery goals;

Ability to communicate with different levels within the organization;

Ability to positively engage all employees, treating them with dignity and respect while exercising corrective action appropriately and with discretion;

Proactive problem solving skills and an aggressive pursuit of success;

Proficiency in the Dutch and English language is required (speaking and written).
