POSITION SUMMARY

CVS Health Digital is looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Engineer of Content Delivery Network (“CDN”) to help with defining, implementing, and operating our CDN and Edge infrastructure platform. 

As a Senior Software Engineer of Content Delivery Network Engineering, you will use your outstanding technical skills to support, manage, and operate CDN to ensure continuous improvement of CVS Health website performance and availability.

This Engineer will design, develop, and implement digital solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects.

What you will do

  • Leverages expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Contributes to solution design and architecture discussions, collaborating with architects and senior engineers
  • Provides input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure that the overall solution meets the desired objectives
  • Participates in code reviews and ensures adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines
  • Communicates and coordinates with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and contribute to decision-making processes
  • Contributes to the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality
  • Participates in knowledge sharing activities, such as code reviews, tech talks, and workshops, to foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team
  • Works with other developers and team members to implement complex features, enhance existing functionality, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping them improve their technical skills and grow professionally
  • Self-starter who can see the big picture and prioritize their work to make the largest impact on the business and customers vision and requirements
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to define, design, and implement software features and functionality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as necessary to deliver high value work for the organization
  • Participate in on-call rotations providing exceptional service to our customers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of overall IT/Digital development experience on enterprise class applications
  • 3+ yrs of Content Delivery Networks (CDN) expertise
  • 3+ yrs experience Java,, Python, JavaScript, and HTML coding, Angular, React
  • Expert in hybrid and multi-cloud network architecture best practices
  • Expert knowledge of DNS, TCP, NTP, and other network protocols
  • Adept at business intelligence
  • Security preferred, DDOS, Cross site scripting/WAF, DMZ
  • Encryption- TLS/ two-way communications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud technologies/platforms
  • AWS experience is a plus
  • Modern object-oriented programming language like Java
  • Network infrastructure best practices
  • CI/CD experience, Terraform
  • Microservices (Springboot/NodeJS) 
  • Compliance standards knowledge (e.g., ADA, HIPAA, PCI DSS)
  • Adept at problem solving and decision making skills
  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork
  • Adept at growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$124,372.50 - $247,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
