How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
The Test Engineer- Mobile is the champion for quality within the agile team and turns the overarching principles in the quality assurance and testing framework into practices and processes that the agile team can build from.Directly contributes to the achievement of the Definition of Done for a particular sprint item through the use of automated and manual testing approaches to verify that the delivered solution matches the intended outcome of the Product Owner. Maintains up to date knowledge of all the products within the Mobile Product Portfolio and engages with the Product Owner, Solution Architect and Business Analyst to shape the approach to testing for the specific components being developed by the agile team. The Engineer is skilled in both automated and manual approaches and assesses when one is preferred over the other. based on clear defined criteria on when it but has a clear, objective understanding when to utilise a specific approach.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
Actively participating as a member of the agile development team, accountable for delivering quality software, applications, and services but championing the notion that quality is everyone’s responsibility. Identifying appropriate entry and exit criteria at each stage of testing and determining any testing requirements that can not be provided by the agile team so that this can be communicated and actioned by the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Mobile Products. Analysing acceptance criteria and defining a high-level test approach to meet the definition of done. Creating estimates by contributing to backlog pointing sessions. Automating any tests that require checking conformance to the acceptance criteria and engaging in manual exploratory testing utilising appropriate tools to ensure key information from the test sessions are captured and stored. Understand and contribute towards Behaviour Driven Development, Automated Acceptance Test Drive Development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery development activities.
Significant experience (2+ years) in a quality assurance role as a member in an agile team in a Product-focussed, agile development environment.
2+ years experience in manual and automated testing approaches including appropriate tooling for different activities related to the product delivery, for example:
- JIRA/Confluence – Product Backlog management
- HP ALM/Quality Centre – Test Management
- Automation -Mobile Centre/Appium/Eggplant/Selenium/UFT
- Jenkins/Maven/Nexus – CI/CD tooling
- Cucumber – BDD tooling
Significant experience (2+ years) in mobile device testing for mobile applications and web based application including key considerations specific to this area.
Experience in fast-paced delivery environments with a short-term planning horizon.
