The Director of Marketing and Communications works in partnership with the Executive Director of Career Link and the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services and Student Success to provide campus leadership in the functional areas of public information services and activities. This includes participation in maintaining sound working relationships with the media and participation in developing and implementing a plan for regional advertising, promotional materials, events and publications. The Director works closely with internal leadership teams to implement innovative techniques and programs to reach various segments of prospective and incumbent student populations, including high school students, working adults and students of our skills training programs.

  • Provide leadership in implementing campus media relations plans, including establishing and maintaining media contacts, disseminating news items and provide assistance and support on media-related issues.
  • Develop and administer marketing/communication strategies around on-campus recruiting events to advance the college’s goals and statewide reputation.
  • Manage statewide recruitment and marketing materials.
  • Administer public relations and marketing budget.
  • Creates campus promotional, recruitment and development materials and publications – both print and electronic.
  • Assist with coordination of special events and public functions for the campus as directed by supervisors; assist with commencement and other special ceremonies.
  • Contribute to the college-wide integrated marketing plan and apply that plan to campus communications and marketing strategies and goals.
  • Develop, implement and monitor campus marketing and communications efforts in conjunction with academic schools.
  • Provide assistance to campus departments in promotional recruitment and development efforts.
  • Create, edit and utilize video for departments, events and marketing campaigns. Write press releases, pitch stories ideas to local/national media outlets to enhance the college’s visibility.
  • Manage and implement marketing strategies to engage students and faculty through regional social media platforms, including managing campus social media channels.
  • Serve as point of contact for regional media outlets for campus closings.
  • Research and develop new and innovative ways to reach out to our prospective student population; finds innovative ways to connect with target audiences
  • Monitor emerging industry trends to utilize best practices in advancing communication/marketing engagement and strategies.
  • Manage content, design, and deployment for internal communications including student newsletters, staff/faculty newsletters, and digital signage.
  • Create internal digital forms and surveys using the College’s software, Qualtrics, for collecting applications, RSVPs, etc.
  • Work with the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services and Student Success to implement a fulfillment process to serve the campus.
  • Work with the Ad Agency of Record on the development of print and electronic media marketing materials to promote the college locally.
  • Oversee and coordinate, in conjunction with the Ad Agency of Record, mass media buys locally.
  • Serve as the champion for the campus-wide Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) including serving as the liaison between the campus team and System’s Office team for support and troubleshooting, and staying up-to-date with best-practice utilization of current and new tools within SFMC
  • Serve as the lead for creating and pulling specific lists/reports in Ivy Connect for marketing use. Assist campus with requests for lists/report creation as needed.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and reports on the effectiveness of marketing tactics; track and evaluate audience touchpoints related to marketing in the CRM.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Liberal Arts or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant professional experience in marketing, market research, multimedia, public relations or related field required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Customer-centered and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • CRM experience preferred.
  • Social media and internet savvy.
  • Familiarity/experience with Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok, Twitter, digital photography/videography, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proven ability to prioritize complex projects, managing and meeting deadlines and deliverables.
