SALES DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

Here at The Trade Desk, we are in search of a Sales Development Representative to fill a full-time position and join our growing sales team! This position will be vital to the success of our business and will be rewarding for someone who has a no-fail mentality and is interesting in building out a career in sales. In this role, you will interface and qualify all leads in North America, both inbound and through our demand generation efforts. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 

  • Effectively manage inbound lead flow 
  • Execute outbound prospecting initiatives
  • Conduct high-level discovery conversations: Listening and understanding each prospect's individual goals and challenges; accurately assess individual customer needs and issues to recommend appropriate features, benefits and value of TTD
  • Spend several hours a day on the phone with prospective clients
  • Personally responsible for meeting monthly individual goals and job SLAs
  • Work closely with Operations and Marketing to provide feedback on campaign performance, improve lead qualification, and lead scoring
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Help manage, track, and report on all activities and results using Salesforce
  • Determine the appropriate business approach for potential clients (e.g. routed internally, or to one of our external stakeholders?) 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 4+ years of relevant business development experience
  • Comfort and confidence with cold calling and sending outbound emails every day
  • Able to promote/sell ideas persuasively
  • You are a complex problem solver; not only are you able to effectively uncover a client’s business challenge, but you are able to make thoughtful recommendations on how to solve them
  • You're interested in getting to know the ins and outs of Business Development at a technology company and set the foundations for a successful career in sales
  • Previous advertising technology experience is required 
  • Strong written & verbal communication 
  • Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member
  • A fundamental understanding of the sales process
  • Experience with Salesforce or internal CRM tools is a plus, but not a requirement 
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional teams (customer success, talent, legal, finance, marketing, operations etc.)

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. Employees can also purchase The Trade Desk stock at a discount through The Trade Desk’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is

$76,900—$141,000 USD
