Faculty position announcement for the Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology

The Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites applications for a full time, tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level starting 7/1/2018. The successful candidate is expected to develop and sustain a dynamic, externally funded research program that focuses on neurodevelopment and/or neurodegeneration at the cellular and molecular level, and exhibit a commitment to excellence in graduate and medical school teaching and mentoring. Qualifications include a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degrees in neuroscience or related fields and a strong publication record.

The Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology is home to a group of interactive and collegial faculty with research interests that span different areas of cellular and molecular neurobiology. The department is well integrated into a large, highly collaborative neuroscience community across 7 schools and over 20 departments at Rutgers University. Rutgers offers outstanding core facilities in genomics, proteomics, transgenic animals, confocal microscopy and cryo-EM. It is also home to the largest university-based biorepository.
