We're thrilled to welcome Firmware Engineer II to our American Wireless Team at ASSA ABLOY!

Reporting directly to the Firmware Lead, this position is perfect for someone who is passionate about embedded software and firmware development specifically using technologies such as, Zigbee, WiFi, and other network technologies for Digital Door Lock products.

This position may sit onsite full-time in New Haven OR Berlin, CT.

What you will be doing 

  • Next-Gen Technology: Be at the forefront of developing FW application for next-generation Digital Door Lock products, immersing in the latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Collaborative Culture and Environment: Work closely with an array of engineers, engaging in Agile design discussions, hardware analysis, and application design sessions. Learn firsthand how different aspects of a project come to together to create a cohesive product.
  • Programming: Dive into Embedded C programming and debugging code, writing automated test scrips as we work to build out our CI/CD processes globally.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in unit testing, feature integration work and enhance your skills with the guidance of experienced team members. Embrace a continuous learning environment that encourages the exploration of the best coding techniques.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, OR a related field.
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Proficient with C, RTOS, Git, and Jira
  • Experience in design, development, and testing of complex, multi-threaded embedded IoT applications, and communication protocols via I2c, SPI, UART, and others.
  • Specializing in optimizations for code size, execution speed, memory usage, task scheduler and interrupt controlling, exception handling, and power management.
