Position: CTI & Claims Support Manager - Home Care

By and large, shoppers have to choose between cleaning and laundry products that are either high-performing, environmentally conscious or reasonably priced. We believe they should be able to have it all. Consumer Technical Insight & Claims (CTIC) is an integral part in R&D, sitting at the interface between product design and marketing to help us achieving that goal at our best. It’s our purpose to guide both R&D & brand team to create products that deliver to the consumer needs with holistic product experiences that delight consumers.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility of the role is to deliver strategic consumer insights and claims for innovation program. 
  • Analyse data and extract insights from a range of sources to help guide the development of superior propositions.
  • Acting as consumer advocate to translate consumer needs into technical targets to deliver superior products and innovation and defining the key jobs to be done to deliver growth.
  • Work seamlessly with R&D, Marketing and CMI teams to design research approaches, conduct technical & consumer test and bring best prototype to market.
  • Write research study briefs and execute studies; working closely with internal functions and external third parties to ensure successful research execution.
  • Develop compelling claims/ communication as well as KBS/ demo to ensure the product is launched with holistic mix.
  • Lead claims substantiation and defense strategies partnering with Legal and Regulatory and deliver outstanding communications for these innovations that are robustly supported. Deliver the strategic capability briefs, claims tests, market analyses that will see us constantly raise our game in how we develop claims and the claims we develop for our beauty consumer.
  • Lead the development and execution of project workshops, idea generation sessions or other practical activities as required for project needs.
  • Deliver and justify business recommendations to a range of stakeholders, across multiple functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a physical science, consumer science or equivalent. Some chemistry background would be advantage.
  • Working experience in FMCG company, Homecare or Personal Care is preferred.
  • Experience (5 years plus) in consumer and product research and claims development. Enthusiasm to learn about consumers and share new insights within the team.
  • Intermediate understanding on statistical analysis is required.
  • Experience of working in product development or technical marketing is an advantage.
  • Great skill at understanding technical content, concepts and regulatory spaces in detail. A strong ability to translate the same content for non-technical audiences.
  • A strong presenter, communicator and influencer, obsessed by consumers and brands, able to convince and deliver on strategic visions.
  • Great people skills; building and maintaining relationships with an ability to be persuasive and assertive when necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to interpret data to pull out key insights, structuring complex data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to connect and work with multiple parties including external including research agencies.
  • Project management and problem solving.

Key Skills

  • Strong Skills in the areas of research design, determining consumer needs and linking them to build new communication stories and build new product solutions and Business opportunities (products and activation)
  • Strong external orientation – competitive landscape, trends, consumers and habits, understanding of regulations and legal Boundaries within claims/communications.
  • Overall good communication skills
  • Claim support and demo creation techniques.
  • Sensory and consumer testing skills
  • Knowledge of digital tools & systems including social commerce/ e-commerce.
